Here are the before and after shots of a dorm which I redesigned for a short film I made. When designing this set, I chose to remove all the original decorations. The decorations which I chose all leaned towards a more dark vintage aesthetic, such as the timpani lamp, the dead flowers, encased butterfly, Van Gosh skull painting, and the Francisco de Goya painting. Along with that I created some artwork of my own to hang on the wall to further emphasize the character's interest in art. In the end the props and decoration all came together to create a strong dark/vintage aesthetic, while also helping to communicate the protagonist's fascination with the darker parts of humanity.
